McCormick-Stillman Railway Park

Late this morning we headed out to McCormick-Stillman Railway park. Olivia pretty much hated the whole experience because she was too hot and tired. The other two boys were pretty toasty too, but they weren't as vocal about it. I tried to be somewhat understanding because it was almost a 100 degrees which equated to about a 40 degree shock to the system. Sam stayed home with grandma and slept. Olivia probably should have done that too!

We enjoyed a ride on the carousel

We then headed over to play

Once we realized that the kids were hiding in the shade to keep out of the heat we headed over to the other playground, which was a little more shaded.

It also offered some mist sprays. The kids were in heaven!

Before heading out we took a ride on the train.
Olivia wasn't too keen on the idea.

We also snuck a look inside the unopened railway museum. It had some fun trains to watch and was beautifully air conditioned too.

"Choo Choo"

Grandpa was mowing the lawn when we got back and was about to put the sprinklers on. Olivia and Zach decided to get on their swimsuits and run around on the lawn to cool down a little.

Zach especially liked it when the sprinklers shot as his bum of course

Cousins finally arrived and life was good for Thomas again. Jared was sporting a wrist brace after he injured himself yesterday while we were climbing. Luckily, a trip to the ER determined that it would get better soon.

We Grandpa and dad's attended the Priesthood session of conference the rest of us hung out and then headed to Chino's for dinner. It ended up being a little bit of a mistake since that was what just about everyone else in the area had planned for the evening too, but the snickerdoodles are worth it!

The last time we vacationed in Phoenix it was in the 100's and we couldn't survive outside of the pool. I can totally commiserate with Olivia. Once we hit about 85 degrees I am pretty non-functional. Poor Scott! His dream is to move there but it just is too hot for me!
