The Hoopes left tonight and as you can see everyone was pretty devastated! The loss was also made difficult because I had to take Sam for an unplanned Dr's visit right before they left. It was becoming increasingly difficult for him to breath and he was beginning to use his tummy muscles a lot. He just seemed so tired. Dr Barer made time for him at the end of the day and gave him a dexamethasone shot to see if an extra steroid boost would help things.
I went home feeling only slightly better and was convinced that we would see the inside of the ER sometime during the weekend. Breathing problems scare me. Luckily, after a weekend of nebulizer treatments he managed to turn the corner. We may now stay inside until winter bids us farewell.
