Since February is Dental Awareness Month, Spense and Venn decided that they would use their Friday off promoting the cause of dental health. In the morning they went to Venn's daughter's school and we met them at Thomas' school after lunch. They did a great job teaching the kids about brushing, flossing, and not eating too many sweets, and for the most part they managed to keep the group of almost 100 first graders attention.
Teaching the kids how to floss.
The highlight of the presentation came in the form of the song which Venn created an strummed along on his guitar too. I didn't get to see the whole thing since I thought that Zach would be better at staying still than he was. He just wanted to spend time hanging out in the bathrooms, dipping toilet paper. It was all fun! Thomas was so proud to have his dad at school with him. It's always a treat to see how happy it makes him.
"Brush, brush, brush your teeth. Brush them twice a day.
Floss, and not too many sweets to prevent tooth decay!"

That might be the cutest thing I have seen all day! For some reason it is just so great to think of Spencer being this great dentist teaching children proper dental hygiene from back when he was shelving periodical journals. Thank goodness for higher education! Ha! Although really, I did love working in the library. :)
Looks like a fun time! I'm sure the kids will remember the song if nothing else! xx
