Everyone arrived last night. We were glad that grandpa Kent was able to make it. He had neck surgery a week or so ago and so it was a little debatable as to whether or not he would feel up to the trip, but luckily he was doing ok. After Thomas went to school this morning Jared took himself outside to play with the small amount of snow that we still have left. He was out there forever and even came in for a second pair of gloves because the first lot had got so wet. I guess that when you're a kid from Arizona you have to take what you can get.

After lunch Spense and I took off down to Portland. Kent and Noelene were nice enough to come up and watch our kids while we got a little trip away. We had a fun time walking around downtown and eating dinner together without worrying about keeping the kids (well mainly Zach!) quiet. We shopped some more, picked up desert and then went back to our hotel and were both asleep by 9pm. Romantic I know! But the bed was so comfy and we have had a child who has refused to sleep through the night for the last 15 months of his life and after a while that kind of gets to you! It was nice to wake up the next morning feeling like you had had a few good, solid, continuous hours of sleep. Thanks so much grandma and grandpa C!
