Children's Museum

Thomas and George

We had hoped that we would be able to do an overnight trip up in Mt. Vernon today. They have a tulip festival up there every year with fields and fields full of beautiful tulips and other spring flowers. Since we have had rather a cold year this year the tulips still aren't in bloom, so we decided that it would be best to pass on that trip. I was sad though because unfortunately we don't have another free weekend this month, which will mean that we have to wait until next year now.

We didn't really have any other good ideas of where to go since we thought that we would just be heading up north. We decided that we'd still head up north, but stop at the Children's museum up in Seattle. The kids had a fun time. They had a great Curious George exhibit that Thomas and Olivia enjoyed playing in forever.

The kids insisted on staying until closing and then we headed upstairs to get something to eat in the Seattle Center. We were excited to discover that there were a bunch of inflatables up there to play on and since it was "free Thursday" Thomas and Olivia got to run around on all the slides for as long as they wanted and it didn't cost us a thing. If only we had known that before we went into the museum!
