This morning we enjoyed heart shaped pancakes made by dad. He always makes a good effort for these special occasions.

Look at those milk bubbles!

He gets the forced smile from his father
I did feel like a bit of a Valentine's loser this year. Usually we'll make sugar cookies, but I didn't have any flour yesterday when I went to do it and it was pouring with rain outside. Spenser was on his way back from Phoenix, and I lacked the motivation to drag 3 kids out to the store. The continuous heavy rain really put a damper on my spirits and so we all now suffer from my lack of luster. Sorry.
Spenser had also done a little shopping which we agreed not to do. I finally got to feel the way he must feel when I tell him that we're not going to exchange gifts and then I break our arrangement. It kind of stinks. I won't do it again! I did get some great new running shoes out of it though!
So, happy day. I hope you were feeling the love! I was grateful to have my valentine home. I always miss him. He really is helpful around here. Thanks for being so patient, kind, and forgiving.

I keep telling Brad to stop being so dang helpful...then I wouldn't get so upset when he isn't around...but of course I don't really mean that.
You are a better mommy than me :) My kids did get heart shapped pancakes (but not nearly as pretty as teh ones Spense made) and that was about it. Every year I intend to make cookies with them and every year something keeps me from doing it. One of my goals this year is to do more with teh kids- although they are getting old enough that it just isn't "cool". . . hmmmm And poor Mike got nothing this year. Not that we do much anyways but I usually do a card or something,, lol!
