Today we headed out to the zoo. The weather was only supposed to be in the low 80's so we figured that the kids might be able to handle that. We packed a lunch and plenty of bottles of frozen cold water to help us survive the day.
Olivia has developed a bit of a hat craze during this trip. She's constantly snagging one of Thomas'. I assume this has a lot to do with keeping the sun out of her eyes.
Giraffes are one of my all time favorite.
We got pretty close up
Sam thought he was pretty interesting
Pausing for some shade and water. They actually
look a lot worse here than I remember!
I took Thomas and Olivia off alone after lunch
while Zach and Sam both slept
Three monkeys
We made it until almost closing time (of course we always have to stay till the bitter end) and then picked up some food before heading to Nathan's baseball game.
I had to take this photo of the our beautiful Crown Victoria rental car, while we waited for food at Sonic. Spenser hated the car with a passion. When we booked the car to get the best deal you just specify your requirements and then you get whatever is the special for that day. Kent and Noelene have always had some great cars, but we ended up with this! Other than being ugly it did work out pretty well for us. You can't deny that it's a comfortable drive, and the bench seat up front meant that we could easily fit 6 of us in without having to pay for a van.
At Nathan's Game
Nathan did a great job. We were glad that he asked us to come along.
