This morning after we checked out of the hotel we decided to drive into Vancouver and pay a visit to Stanley Park since the weather was so beautiful. The drive into Vancouver, however, was not quite as beautiful. The traffic was horrible and it took us about 1 1/2 hours to travel just over 25 miles. There is no good direct freeway access into the city, which is a lot like the journey into London, but Vancouver made London seem like a breeze.
Zach wasn't very happy in the car. I kept looking back at him and telling Spenser that I didn't think that he felt too good. He kept coughing too, which made me very nervous. As we drove the few remaining miles to our destination, the coughing started again, and the the vomit came. I managed to catch some of it, but it just kept coming. Thomas immediately screamed for the windows to go down and we quickly pulled over.
I am sure we looked quite the sight. A screaming kid half naked and shivering on the pavement. A car seat and suitcase open on the side walk. Thomas got some on his shirt, so that had to come off too. I really just wanted to turn around and leave right then, but Spenser said it would be best to get everyone out and let them get some fresh air and then head out, so that's what we did.
We saw the totem poles in the park and got out to take a picture. We then realized that it was quite a walk to the playground so we all got back into the car. That didn't go down too well!
A view of the city from the park
Everyone and his dog was out on their bike
We enjoyed some swinging
Zach enjoyed carrying his stick around. I had to keep
a close eye on him to make sure he didn't hit anyone.
The kids weren't interested on going onto the beach which
surprised me a little, but it was kind of breezy down there.
More climbing
After a few hours we packed up and headed out. It took us a while to find our way out of the city and then we had to wait at the border for about 45 minutes. The ride home was long - double the amount of time it took us to get up there in fact. We were hoping to get back before Zach woke up from his nap, but an accident put pay to that. Zach then delighted us with more vomit when we were about 30 minutes from home. Clean clothes were scarce at this point so he made it back in a diaper. I am starting to have some serious doubts about our thoughts of a road trip to Utah in the summer!

Maybe I'm a downer but with all that vomit I'd have doubts too!
