The build up to Halloween

Last Sunday Sam got to go on his first family walk. There was of course moaning before we left, but we all managed to have a good time and Thomas even asked if we could come back again soon.

The path got a little too bumpy for the stroller and so Sam got carried
for a while so he didn't get shaken around quite so much.

Zach of course got nice and wet playing in the water,
but he didn't care one bit.

After our walk we spent a little while at the park

When Grandma Noelene left she gave me this bag and told me to open it when we were looking for a family activity. After Monday's Family Home Evening we opened it up and found a few boxes of cupcake mix complete with halloween sprinkles. The kids had fun baking and decorating and especially loved the eating part.

Zach enjoying cupcake decorating. He doesn't eat a whole lot of the cupcake usually. It's all about the frosting with him.

The girl with the sweet tooth was thrilled with this activity

Showing off his decorating skills

To get ready for Trunk or Treat we carved our pumpkins on Tuesday night. The kids enthusiasm only lasted long enough to scoop out the pumpkin guts and then they wanted to go outside and play with friends. I was a little surprised but I can't blame them since we all know that our play days without rain are numbered as winter approaches.

Zach just wanted to stab the pumpkin

Since we have a Batman costume theme this year we decided to carve
some Batman related designs.

Olivia as usual insisted on a classic Jack O Lantern face.

Zach was proud of our work

Everyone enjoyed going to Trunk or Treat on Wednesday night. Sadly, I didn't get to take too many pictures because pushing around a baby while you're holding onto a little Zach doesn't hands free to snap pictures.

Mr Sam even dressed up as Batman's side kick Robin. The mask was a little on the large side so it just out in his stroller. He spent a lot of the event like this except when it came to handing out candy and he decided to scream so I had to hold him as I battled the hordes of candy seeking kids.
