BBQ's and Baseball

We had a pretty fun day today. At lunch time we got to go to school with Thomas for the annual BBQ. This is a day when parents are able to pay for the pleasure of eating lunch with their child. We got to eat hot dogs in very stale buns and so next year we will be taking the advice of a much wiser mom by taking in our own sandwiches to eat. While the food was somewhat lacking the company was not. We got to meet up with lots of friends and sat and ate with our neighbors, Brad, Kim, and Ryan. The best part of all though was watching Thomas and Olivia play together on the playground. They swung and went up and down those slides until the whistle went. Olivia was super sad when I told her that we needed to go home. She seemed to think that it was fun to play at school. I guess we'll see if she still agrees when she's there full time in a couple of years.

This evening we got together at a nearby park for one last time as the "Tigers" to hand out trophies and enjoy some cake and ice cream together. The kids had a lot of fun on the playground and enjoyed receiving their trophies. Spense had them each come up and he told them some things that he had liked about each of them. We then tucked into cake and ice cream and ended with a little game of ball. I thought that they would have had enough by now, but they were all lining up for coach to pitch to them. I guess they must all love baseball. Maybe Spense did manage to do something right!
