As usual I wasn't as organized as I would have like to have been. This is normally always due to me doing crazy stuff and believing that I really can get 30 hours of work accomplished in just the 24 we really have (minus a few for sleeping). We had been up repainting the kitchen and touching up walls from our trim project until around 3.30am. Consequently there was still cake assembly that needed doing and sugar cookie dough to mix. Spense you get a big shout out for really mucking in.
The aprons were laid out for our little guests complete with a chef hat and rolling pin. We started off making pizzas and we ended up with a lot of flour and pizza sauce everywhere. Zach thought that it was a ton of fun to mess around with the rolling pin and he truly earned the "little chef" title that we all affectionately use when he cooks in Olivia's toy kitchen. He loved his pizza so much that he grabbed it back off the baking sheet so that he could roll some more.
While the pizzas cooked we frosted cupcakes. I think that more frosting made it into little mouths than onto their cupcakes and most of them decided to eat one now and take the other one home for later. When the pizza finally came out of the oven the cupcakes seemed to have filled them up already so that got packed for home too. We let them play some and the girls screamed as the boys chased them around with light sabers. They got pretty mad at one point because "the boys were just scaring them and not letting them play".
After some down time we got out more cake and sang "Happy Birthday" to Olivia. It was fun to see her smile as she looked at her friends singing to her. Although she is quite happy being by herself she loves it when friends are over.
She got some great presents. Abby and Sammie got her some baking equipment. The mixing bowl will really help me out too! Connor hit the nail on the head with his Star Wars battle ship. Thomas was over joyed with that gift too and quickly said, "Olivia, we're going to have to share this!" We'll see how that plays out I'm sure.
We had a fun day and as I looked at the kitchen covered in frosting and flour with the dishes in the sink I figured that the hard work was all worth it (it just would have been worth more if someone else had cleaned it up!)

Looks like a great party- so much more creative than mine are! I just let them jump on the trampoline at Anna's party last year- throw in a few games, and some food and that was it! I may have to try better next time!
Wow - Nad, it looked like such a great party - I'm making mental notes! x x
What a clever party. I'm glad she enjoyed it and that Zach had fun too.
How fun! I can't wait to have a baking party for Jesikah next year. You always seem so organized. I'm the one who always plans more than I can do in X amount of time. Maybe it's just a mom thing. I've never converted to "Mom time" from my single days which means I never have enough time to do anything.
Connor had so much fun! Great job as usual..and your cake was adorable!
Looks brilliant Nad! Looks like she had a great time. She is always so happy and smiley! Hope we get to see you in MArch! We leave 24th. Keep me posted in if you book or not.
I love that idea! So clever. I can't believe Olivia is that old. I remember very well when she was born. And look at little Zach. Your kids are adorable.
What a cute party. You are so creative!
