Zion's camp

This morning we packed up and drove out to Zion's Camp. We left later than we had wanted to (when don't we?) and got there just in time for lunch.

Zach was excited to get the poles out and get to work

I thought that the weather was a little chilly for the lake, but all of the kids wanted to head down there anyway. The sun was shining, but it wasn't at all warm. I didn't even bother getting changed into my swimming things. I figure that's what dad's are for, so Spenser got kitted out.

Olivia enjoyed a little ride on the back of a paddle boat

Zach went on a canoe ride with Spenser. He had fun,
but was quick to get out once he saw land.

Thomas also went out for a short paddle

This was the only time that Olivia actually got
into the water. She sat and bathed most of the afternoon.

Zach enjoyed running through the water

Sibling love

Everyone then headed over to the rope swing and gave it a try. Dropping down into that cold water wasn't my idea of fun, but they all seemed to enjoy it.

Spenser tried it out

This would have been a great shot if the
tree hadn't been in the way!

Thomas also gave it a try

Zach also decided to walk over and get in line quite unexpectedly.

This was the closest he got to actually swinging anywhere though

When we were all cold and ready to dry off we headed back and ate dinner. The rest of the evening was then spent at the park. After bedtime we adults sat around and chatted for a while. A little after midnight we heard screams from the Elliot's camper. Their little girl had rolled off the bed and hit her mouth. Her gums were bleeding lots and she was crying pretty hard. Luckily, we had a dentist on site to administer some pain relief and advise.
