Preschool Party and the Symphony

The sugar cookies were made and it was time to head down to the Flight museum for the annual preschool party. I was excited to go along this year since I'd been in bed feeling sick last year. We ate cookies and drank punch. The kids sang a few songs, twirled hoopla hoops and threw balls. There was an appearance from the cutest Mr and Mrs Claus around, but the hit for Zach was seeing the train run around it's tracks. He stood there forever. Unfortunately, when he was finally done with that his behavior wasn't the best. I was glad that Spenser was there so that Olivia at least had one parent paying some attention to her.

Watching the train

A little Christmas singing

Trying out the hoopla hoop. She didn't love this since she was having
a hard time with it. I'm sad that she got that trait from me.

She loves having pictures taken!

I asked her if she wanted to wear a dress to the event since lots of the little girls did last year. she just looked at me and said, "No way!" Sunday is one day too many for this little lady.

Patiently waiting for Santa to arrive

Mrs and Mrs Claus finally showed up

Getting too close to Santa can be a little scary at first

Luckily, Santa was there to pull her in

After our party we headed out to the mall for a while and before we knew it, it was time to pick Thomas up from school. We then dropped the kids over at the Johnson's and headed out to the Symphony to see Handel's Messiah. This had been our very first date together 10 years ago. I must admit that when he asked me to that one I thought that he must be terribly cultured or something. It's funny how wrong you can be about a person! (No, he actually is quite knowledgeable about lots of things including the arts)

Looking pretty pale (for some reason) before we entered the auditorium

The orchestra

During intermission

We enjoyed the performance and Spenser enjoyed the nap that he took during the second half. He complained at me for not waking him, but when you've already nudged someone about a dozen times you start to think that they might actually be tired and need the rest! I did enjoy the music a lot more this time around though, since it was a lot more familiar too me. We had a fun evening and will definitely do it again in the future, but we don't plan on it being a yearly event. A few hours at the Symphony is quite a long time! One thing that I am quite certain of is that I'm glad that I agreed to that date all those years ago. What would I have missed out on?!

That is really sweet. Another thing that I did not know...Glad you guys went. I remember the head nod in church being kind of a shock after Brad and I first got married. Thankfully the kids keep that at bay.

You are both as good looking today than you were all those years ago! xx

That is cool that you got to relive that after 10 years! I think I'd enjoy it...I do enjoy the Messiah and the symphony, but it may be a little long, like you said. Couldn't they just skip a few of those boring ones? :)
