Today was the beginning of the end of the trip. Brad and Deidre were the first to leave for the airport with Dusty in toe. Next were Clay and Jorden, and after some cleaning the rest of us departed. We drove up to Cle Elum lake to have a look around, but it was already so hot that none of my kids wanted to get out of the car. Spense waled out with everyone else with the camera in hand and they were all back within a few short minutes because they had decided that it was too hot as well. It really was too bad that the weather was so warm on the trip.

It was definitely a rocky area!
On the way out of Roslyn we stopped at this dodgy diner to have lunch. Although it looked more than scary from the outside everyone decided that since a lot of the locals seemed to eat there it was probably OK. The place was less than clean inside, but I tried not to freak out as we sat at our greasy tables with dust on everything that surrounded us. I know I'm a whack job, but dirt in eating establishments makes me nervous. The shakes were really good and the food was flavorful, but a little greasy. We all left feeling about 10 pounds heavier I think.
On the drive home we decided to call in and look at Snoqualmie Falls since it was on the way anyway. It would be a really cute little town to go visit when it's not over 100 degrees so we didn't stay much longer than it took to see the falls!

We stopped for some popsicles and beverages before we left the area. We also had to stop a short way into the drive when zach decided to throw up all over himself. It would appear that this drive doesn't seem to agree with him, since he threw up in just about the same spot last time we came up to Ensign Ranch. We sent everyone else on home with our garage door opener while we cleaned the little guy up.
A picture of the temperature gauge in our car on the drive home. We didn't move to the Pacific northwest for temperatures like these! I am just glad that we have air conditioning this year.
I hadn't really thought a whole lot about what I was going to do to feed all of the guests at my house this evening before I left so I made a quick run to the store and threw together some spaghetti for them. We ended the evening with some of us washing cars (Kent) and playing badminton outside.
I had Spense snap this shot of Thomas and Olivia
