Today was just one of those days. When I woke up I felt like I was in pretty good shape. The house was clean, the dishwasher unloaded, and lunch made by 7 a.m. I looked in the fridge and saw a few containers full of left overs and decided to throw them into the garbage disposal before Spenser could take them to work. As I ran the disposal the water started coming up into both sinks. I then looked into the dishwasher and saw that it was filling up with dirty water. I wondered if there was some kind of blockage so I decided that I would try and run the dishwasher to see if it would push the problem through. I left the dishwasher running and took Thomas to school to come back and find my floor with nasty water.
I threw down the towels and decided to call home and speak to dad. He wasn't home so as I spoke to Hayley I decided that I would take a look at the "u" bend and see if anything was going on down there. I was wise enough to throw a bowl under there first and was glad that I did. I found that I straw had managed to get down the disposal and was causing a nice blockage down there. Once that was all cleaned out it was all as good as new. The only problem was that in the midst of my madness I forgot that my Visiting Teachers were coming and both the kids and I looked stunning when they arrived!

You can see that big lump of food in there
The culprit. The straw was quickly thrown away!
The upside to the day was that I did manage to get out the cupcakes that I had made and frosted late last night to 'BOO' people.
Candy corn cupcakes
Don't worry - we didn't 'BOO' anyone who reads our blog!
