Pumpkin Carving

Since tomorrow is our Trunk or Treat night, and we need something to decorate our trunk, we decided that we should probably carve our pumpkins tonight. We were worried that they were going to have to last almost a week, but didn't think that there was much else we could do. Since we are going with a Peter Pan theme this year we carved accordingly!

Thomas choosing which one to carve

I'm always so proud of Thomas each year because even though
he hates the slimy pumpkin he cleans it out every year

The scooping didn't last long

Zach spent a large part of the evening looking like this...

...because we had to keep telling him not to do this.
There were knife marks all over the pumpkins!

Our carving pro

While everyone finished up Olivia helped me to make some pretzel treats. She was very good at helping me unwrap the hugs and then helped put them on top of the pretzels before they went in the oven.

The handy helper

As soon as the pretzels came out of the oven they were topped with some seasonal M&M's. They were yummy, but admittedly not at all healthy.

The finished products
There was Captain Hook, Tinkerbell, and Peter Pan

A better shot of the Peter Pan pumpkin.
Spense carved the design into the skin

We were proud of our finished products. Spense of course did the majority of the work, but Tinkerbell was mine and she was a fine specimen I thought! We'll see what everyone thinks when they're in the trunk tomorrow.

Love the Peter Pan pumpkin! Apparently dental tooth carving skills translate over to pumpkins as well!
