Schilters Pumpkins

Tonight we headed out to Schilter's in search of some more pumpkins. Spense finished work at 4:00 p.m. so we swung by and got him on the way out. Thomas managed to fall headfirst onto the gravel about 2 minutes after we arrived, but that helped to keep the evening exciting. Olivia was quick to find something, but it took the rest of us a little while to sort through some fairly moldy pumpkins. We did come away with a plentiful harvest though.

The boys heading out to the harvest

Olivia quickly got the wheelbarrow rolling

Zach was of course happy to be there

Thomas with his pick

Zach wasn't interested in the pumpkins at all.
He just wanted to look around.

Heading back to the car

On our way out to pay for the pumpkins the kids couldn't resist having their pictures taken as a scarecrow. Their scarecrow interest has been peaked since we recently watched the Wizard of Oz.

Thomas was the only one big enough to have his hands almost show

He's too cute to scare away the birds

The whole time I was taking this picture I could hear
Olivia say, "I don't have a brain."

Zach didn't seem to think that being a scarecrow was all that fun.

After the pumpkins were in the car we walked up to the barn to see the animals. Zach was in heaven. He got to point at all the animals and tell them what to do.

Here he is telling the goats to stop eating and get out
of the container so he could pet them.

This little heifer was one of our favorites

I was really proud of Thomas for picking up this cat
because animals scare him a little.

Olivia wasn't quite as sure of the kitten. She was
worried that it was going to scratch her.

Zach loved the kitten. He just picked it up all
by himself and hugged it.

On the way out of the barn they had this cute 'How tall this fall?" sign and so I made the kids line up one by one for a quick shot.

We left as the sun started to set and headed out for some yummy soup at Panera since I didn't want to cook!
