Silverwood

We woke up with the birds and enjoyed some sausages and pancakes for breakfast. Thomas and Olivia enjoyed sitting on the swing while it was all hands on deck to pack up and move down to the bottom of the campsite. Since we hadn't made reservations earlier we were to spend tonight in the tent! Zach just wanted to wander around everywhere and get himself into trouble so he spent some time in the pack and play, but that didn't last for too long, even with Thomas and Olivia in there to keep him company.

After making camp I decided that we would visit Silverwood today, which is a large water and amusement park in the area. It wasn't super warm when we left, but we thought that the weather would pick up. The kids were excited to get into the water. I thought that it was all a bit cold (I am a wuss in cold water) but of course I did my part to join in. We spent some time in the wave pool and the lazy river. Zach thought that it was lots of fun floating along in the river sitting on Zach's knee and Thomas did a great job of dragging Olivia and me around, while helping us to avoid any squirting water. When we got out of the river the wind really picked up and it started to rain a little. Olivia and I were really cold so we got changed with Zach. Thomas and Spense decided that they would brave a few more of the rides, but we had to put a stop to it when Thomas got off one of the tube rides with blue lips and uncontrollable shivering!

This was the only picture that we took at the water park
since we assumed that we had plenty of time to take more!

We spent the next few having fun on the rides. Olivia really is starting to get brave and wanted to go on almost everything. Thomas got me to go on the big wheel with him. I was a little dubious when we got stuck right at the top as they were loading and unloading people, but it was fun to go on something with Thomas. While we did that the other three went to scoop out the roller coasters and check on height restrictions.

While Thomas and Spenser enjoyed the coaster Olivia and I enjoyed an ice cream together. I think that the ice cream is always the highlight of any activity for Olivia.

I think that Thomas enjoyed the roller coaster a lot more than Spenser did. Spense said that he was a little cautious at first, but then he really got into it. I don't think that Spense likes how much those wooden roller coasters seem to throw and bump you around. After a few more rides we decided that we should head back to the campsite to check that our tent was still there. It had been pretty windy all day and Spense informed me that he had forgotten to peg it down since we were rushing to get started for the day. Luckily, we had the pack and play in there so we were sure that it would be OK. Sure enough we found that all was well. The kids fell asleep pretty quickly after such a long day and Spense and I sat by the fire for a while. I then got into my little sleeping bag smelling of smoke and pushed right up to the side of the tent since three of us were trying to share an air mattress. I'm not sure really how we all managed to squeeze in there, but it was just for one night and you can do anything once right?!
