Time for Home

We were all sad to pack up and leave the house this morning. I really felt like I would have loved to have had just one more day. I think that we will definitely be coming back.

Goodbye Seabrook!

It was just a short walk to the beach
You can see the ocean behind the trees

Before we headed home we decided to drive out to Quinault Rainforest and have a short hike around there since the area is just so beautiful. I had asked how far it was to go up to Forks (the setting of the Twilight series) but since it was a couple of hours I decided that I could live without. The biggest problem of the day was that Spenser had told Thomas that if he didn't feel well he could go home early and so that's what he had decided he was doing. He really seemed quite well, he just wanted to go home, but we made him come along anyway because I wanted us to all enjoy some more time together.

Trying to coax him into coming along with us

Trying to get back into the locked car.
Luckily he didn't know the keyless entry code!

One of the 1st things we got to see was the World's largest spruce

Underneath the spruce

The trees and vegetation were beautiful

We thought it was really cool to see this tree growing
on top of another tree trunk

Our little band hiking through the forest

Zach heard water and wanted to follow it

Thomas was definitely bringing up the rear

The water led us down to Lake Quinault

The lake was very pretty with trees surrounding it on all sides

Grandpa shared with his his mad stone skimming skills

Thomas gaining some important advice about
stone selection from Spenser

Olivia and Zach both gave it a go

The boys

Grandma and her favorite daughter

After some competitive rock throwing, we walked back up to the cars and then drove down to the lake for some lunch. I hadn't really planned on doing that so we just had to make do with what we had left over (which included danish pastries which dad is modeling beneath). Dad made some wonderful salsa and turkey concoction with his sandwich!

Enjoying a spot of lunch

She'll only pose for solo pictures these days

After a wonderful weekend it was finally time to make the drive home. Hopefully we can make it back there again some time soon, and hopefully avoid the extra trip out to Aberdeen to visit the ER.

I'm glad I get to see all of the places in Washington we never went to through your blog. Fun pictures.

We have never been to Quinnault Lake-it looks so beautiful we will have to make time to go next summer. Glad you had a great time with your parents!
