Port Townsend

We decided to have a bit of a down day yesterday, you know the kind where you catch up with laundry. The visitors also made trips to the stores that they love out here such as Target. I personally can't imagine having to live without that one now.

Today we decided that we would get out and do something. Two hours is just about perfect for a one way car drive so we decided to drive out to Port Townsend since that fit right in with my requirements and Josh and Hayley have never been out there.

It was lunch time when we arrived so we headed over to our favorite diner in town. There look like there are a few other good places in town so maybe we'll try something different next time. My kids would probably hate me since they love the shakes and ice cream we always get for desert. I guess there's nothing wrong with having a few family traditions!

Hayley and Olivia waiting for their food

Unfortunately, the closest that Liam got to food
was a little bit of Hayley's fry.

Outside waiting for grandma. Sadly it was trash day
and there was no way around the cans.

We then took a quick stroll around the town before heading back up to the car and making the short drive up to Fort Worden state park. The kids always love going out there and running around the batteries. The sun decided to come out for us too which was a welcome relief.

Ready for some excitement

Thomas loves climbing up this secret staircase
which connects the 2 upper floors

Zach did a lot of climbing and grandpa followed

These two are so in love! Hayley told Josh not to do that since she didn't want the picture to make my blog.Well here it is!

Hayley, Josh, and mum on the beach

Grandpa is always very active with the kids

He likes to make sure that Zach isn't getting into trouble

Thomas enjoyed climbing on the logs
As did Olivia

You can always count on a happy face from this one

Mum takes a less hands on approach with the kids!

More climbing from Zach. Somehow he got a bloody nose
along the way to make him look tough.

Thomas enjoyed taking grandpa through all the dark tunnels

Goodbye Fort Worden

Another picture of such a cute family!

Spenser had dinner waiting for us when we got home (he is such a good guy. He misses out on all the fun and takes care of us). Zach also decided that throwing up all over himself the minute we pulled up to the house would be quite welcoming. A fun day trip if you don't include the vomit!
