Boats and Salmon

Since we are truly scared that Summer is quickly fading and Fall is suddenly upon us we decided that we would get outside this afternoon and go check out the salmon that come back to the river to spawn. We headed up to the Falls to first to see what was going on there, but the holding tank hadn't even been filled yet, so we decided that it must still be a little too early in the season. The kids played for a while and climbed in the trees though before we decided to leave.

We then drove down town since we had seen some seals down there earlier in their week, who gather to pick off some of the salmon who are making their way up the river. We managed to spot 4 of them out in the sound and saw quite the gathering of salmon. We then went down to the harbor to look at some of the tug boats down there. I really am so very glad to live here because it really is helping to get us outside more to appreciate all of the great things and beauty that we have around us.

Look at that salmon. A fisherman's dream.

If you look closely you may spot a seal head.
After trying to take this picture Spense agreed that
we need a better camera. Christmas!

Yes, Zach's sweater is filthy. Wafers plus Zach equals mess.
What more do I need to say?
