You may be thinking that we decided to head out and see Brad, Deidre, and David (who are at Boston University) over Labor Day weekend, and while this is a trip we would love to make it will have to wait for a little while. We just drove about 15 minutes down the road to a cute little village right on the sound, you know the type where everyone knows everyone else. We planned on taking a canoe or a paddle boat out for a little while after a picnic lunch. Spense was less excited about the paddle boat option though because "they're just so hard!"As we ate lunch down on the sand by the marina it became clear that the kids weren't really interested in getting in a boat. They were just happy to play in the sand and collect sea shells. I walked around with them for a while and we collected all of the "pretty shells" that they could find. That included almost everything on the beach even if it was broken!
I know that such an animal may very well be in my future,
but for now the "no one is ready for the responsibility"
argument is still winning!
The day of course wouldn't have been complete without ice cream and as we drove away Spense announced that he wants to live here some day. Just you let me know when you have that 2 million!

Well now we'll have to find something to do with the words "Olympia" or "Seattle" in it just to be funny. We might have better luck finding something called "Washington" out here though.
Chester is much nicer than that dog! If only you would allow it...
Looks like we aren't the only ones sponsored by the North Face. Even we haven't bought them for our kids:) Looks like a fun day!
